Support Jade Rabbit Staff Amid Financial Struggles

Dear Jade Rabbit Community,

Our team is in a crisis, we need your support now more than ever.

For months, we, the dedicated staff of Jade Rabbit, a beloved vegan dim sum restaurant in Portland, Oregon, have been struggling under the mismanagement and unlawful practices of the owner of Aimsir Distillery. Despite our best efforts to raise concerns, Aimsir has responded with intimidation tactics and negligence, forcing us into a position where we must either accept financial instability or risk losing everything.

On December 15th, we presented an employee-wide petition demanding financial transparency and accountability from Aimsir. In return, we were pressured to take full control of operations in less than a week's notice, establish our own LLC, and sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) that would silence us from discussing any of the unlawful actions we’ve uncovered. This includes missed payroll, unpaid vendor bills, and even illegal tax practices on reimbursements. We are also facing unaddressed discrepancies in our tips, PTO, and sick days, which have created immense stress and financial insecurity for our team.

Despite these challenges, we’re not giving up. A small group of staff members have formed a worker-owned LLC with plans to transition into a cooperative, offering shared ownership, healthcare, and fair wages with profit share. But we need your help to make this vision a reality.

This fight is not just for us—it’s for the future of Jade Rabbit and the hardworking individuals who have poured their hearts into making it a community staple. We refuse to let mismanagement destroy what we’ve built together. With the support of an attorney, we’re standing firm in our commitment to financial transparency and fairness for our entire team. But we can’t do this alone.
