Support Jaime Ruano's Funeral and Repatriation

Hola a todos, mi nombre es Justin Ruano y soy el sobrino de Jaime Ruano. Es con la tristeza más profunda en mi corazón que comparto que mi tío, Jaime Ruano, falleció el 22 de septiembre de 2024. Esta es una situación muy desafortunada para la que no estábamos preparados. Estamos pidiendo desesperadamente su apoyo y ayuda en estos tiempos difíciles.

Jaime era un hermano cariñoso, hijo, tío, padre y amigo para muchos. Jaime deja atrás a sus 2 hijos. Cualquier fondo donado se utilizará para la repatriación del cuerpo de mi tío Jaime Ruano de regreso a su país de origen, Guatemala, y para cualquier gasto funerario. Cualquier cantidad donada es MUY APRECIADA.

Debido a las circunstancias del incidente, solo tenemos información limitada sobre lo que supuestamente sucedió y todavía estamos luchando por las respuestas.

La policía ha compartido que el 22 de septiembre de 2024, mi tío salió con su amigo en un yate. Afierman que el amigo les informó que mi tío Jaime saltó del yate después de tomar una foto de su amigo en los escalones del yate que van al agua. Después de la foto en el agua, se metió en el agua y poco después intentó nadar de vuelta al yate. La policía afirma que comenzó a luchar con las corrientes y se ahogó bajo el puente de la autopista Whitestone. Después de días de buscar su cuerpo, la Unidad Portuaria de la Policía de Nueva York ha recuperado su cuerpo de 500 Hutchinson River Parkway East, Ballys Golf link @ Ferry Point, Bronx, NY el 24/9/2024

Hi all, my name is Justin Ruano and I am Jaime Ruano’s nephew. It is with the deepest sadness in my heart that I share that my uncle, Jaime Ruano, passed away on September 22, 2024. This is a very unfortunate situation that we were not prepared for. We are desperately asking for your support and help through these trying times.

Jaime was a loving brother, son, uncle, father, and a friend to many. Jaime leaves behind his 2 kids. Any funds donated will be used for the repatriation of my uncle Jaime Ruano's body back to his home country Guatemala, and for any funeral expenses. Any amount donated is GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Due to the circumstances of the incident, we only have limited information on what supposedly happened and we are still fighting for answers.

The police have shared that on September 22, 2024, my uncle went out with his friend on a yacht. They state that the friend informed them that my uncle Jaime jumped off the yacht after taking a picture of his friend on the steps of the yacht that go into the water. After the picture in the water, he went into the water and soon after he tried swimming back to the yacht. The police state that he began to struggle with the currents and he drowned under the Whitestone Expressway bridge. After days of searching for his body, the NYPD Harbor Unit has recovered his body from 500 Hutchinson River Parkway East, Ballys Golf link @ Ferry Point, Bronx, NY on 9/24/2024
