Jaime's Cremation, Burial & Headstone
Donation protected
Thank you for everyone's generous support. I've update the goal to include a simple headstone. We are a little over $800 from getting a flat grey stone online. Yes! Online! Half the price of the local monument company. Who knew headstones would be so expensive? Please share this link everywhere you can so we can reach the people Jaime knew from online and about the town. Tell everyone you can, even $5 adds up. We can't put her to rest without some kind of marker. If you've given, please share the link wherever you can. Thanks again.
Our dear friend Jaime (Nova Green) peacefully passed away Friday May 17th at 9:30pm. Our group of five since grade school, Pat Hursh, Cheryl Dougherty, Diana Whitlock, and me Allison Galloway, have been Jaime's faithful friends till the end. With not much family left, we are handling Jaime's final arrangements.
Jaime has been deteriorating for years. Last November, she moved to an assisted living home, where she continued to decline. She started hospice care a couple weeks ago, which made her very comfortable with a new bed and daily care. Pat visited her often and so did various friends.
Jaime and her sister Kate owned the Okemos house jointly after the death of their mom 12 years ago. The sale of the house closed last week. After paying all the debts attached to the house, Jaime was left with no proceeds. She has been surviving on Social Security and Medicaid for years.
We have launched this fundraiser to pay for her cremation, burial and a simple grave marker.
She is currently under the care of the Neptune Society. We will have a memorial service and take her to the Rockford Cemetery, where there is a family plot, later this summer. Let us know if you would like to attend a memorial service in person or by zoom.
Please contribute any amount you can, it will help. We are all living month to month, but we are all pitching in to take care of our friend. Pat has been helping her for years, living close by. So many other friends she made have helped her out physically and more importantly with the love and care they have shared. She felt everyone's children were her adopted grand kids! She had lots of dinner, bbq's, game nights for friends and their families. She loved having people around her. And she loved rescuing all the animals she could.
Please pass this link on to any friends or family you have contact with, the more people we can reach, that knew Jaime, the quicker we can lay her to rest.
Thank you so much for your support.
