Support Jairo Diaz's Road to Recovery

Please help us raise money to cover Jairo Diaz's insurance expenses.

Jairo is currently a senior at Murrieta Mesa High School, in Murrieta, CA, where he was looking forward to the senior year activities and graduation!

Unfortunately, on January 16, 2025 around 8:30 pm on his way home from work, Jairo was involved in a major car accident when he lost control of his vehicle while attempting to stop at a non-working traffic light. He was critically injured and was transported by ambulance to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar, CA and after was transported by helicopter to Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda, CA due to the nature of his serious injuries.

Jairo’s injuries include repairing a bruised artery near his heart by inserting a stent in his aorta, a ruptured kidney requiring the use of a nephrostomy bag, and a fractured pelvis requiring a metal rod to be drilled above his left knee and used a clamp tied to a weight to slowly pull the femur back in place prior to surgery, which consisted of multiple metal screws and chains implanted to reinforce the fractured pelvis. During this surgery which lasted six long hours, Jairo required multiple blood transfusions due to losing a lot of blood during the surgeries.

In addition, Jairo’s face required over 30 stitches to his face, including his forehead, eyes, nose, and mouth caused by broken glass from the windshield. After multiple surgeries, there were additional complications, and one of his lungs collapsed. Jairo was then put on a breathing machine and he was able to breathe on his own after a few days.

Due to the severity of his injuries, he is not able to bear weight on his lower extremities for 6 weeks. After the 6 weeks, he will start his minimum of 3-9 month physical therapy. We are hopeful that during his rehabilitation and recovery, he will regain the ability to walk again.
