Help Support our Dad's
Battle for Life and Family in time of hardship.

Hello, my family and I’re reaching out with a hopeful heart, asking for your support during one of the most difficult times my family has ever faced. Life has thrown so many challenges our way, and right now, we’re in urgent need of reliable transportation, financial help, and assistance with some essential home repairs.
My parents, Jake and Nita, my sisters, my brother, my 3-year-old nephew, and our beloved dog Loki—have endured so much over the past few years. My dad has lived with only one kidney his entire life, and three years ago, he became very sick and was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney disease. He now needs a kidney transplant to survive, and we are desperately searching for a living donor who can help save his life.

It’s hard for us to ask for help, as we all work hard to support each other, but my dad’s health has taken such a toll on him and our family—emotionally, physically, and financially. The doctors have emphasized that a living kidney donor is his best hope. After some testing, we have not found a match in our circle.
My mom wanted to be a donor but due to our family's hardships and some health issues, the doctors are strongly advising it would not be best.
Now, we are reaching out to the community, hoping to find that one person who could offer the gift of life.

On top of everything, my own life took an unexpected turn when I was diagnosed with a chronic illness during high school. While it’s not life-threatening, it makes it much harder to manage daily life and work. I worked so hard for a year and saved over $10k to buy my first car. This was such a huge victory for me I was so excited. Not long after, the car started having issues and costly repairs. It has been a hurtful lesson learned that everyone is not honest, and I ended up with a lemon. A few months ago, it gave out and I’ve had to rely on expensive rideshares to get to work or family.

Things got even worse here just the first week of February. My dad offered to pick me up from work, on our way home just a few blocks away, we were hit by an unlicensed driver failing to yield. The crash was frightening, and both of us were injured, though thankfully, we will be okay and are recovering. I know it’s not my fault the accident happened but sometimes I think that if he didn’t need to give me a ride this most recent disaster and stressor would not have happened but it did. Unfortunately, our family’s main reliable vehicle was totaled in the accident. The insurance coverage doesn’t leave them now with enough to replace it with something safe and dependable. We all have work and school each day and it's been a lot to deal with worrying and juggling it all.

We’re now in a tough spot, trying to figure out how to afford reliable transportation, which is essential for getting to medical appointments, work, and managing everyday needs. We’re also struggling to keep up with some necessary repairs around our home, which have only added to the stress. Everything feels much harder without a reliable vehicle.

That’s why we’re asking for your help. We need funds to get a reliable vehicle and make some critical home repairs that will help us breathe a little easier. Any additional funds will go directly to supporting my dad’s kidney transplant journey, which is the most urgent need of all. Every donation, no matter the size, will help ease our burden and bring us one step closer to stability.
If you can’t donate, we ask that you share this—spreading the word means the world to us.

Above all, we need help saving our dad’s life and asking for help in spreading the word and finding a living kidney donor. If you or anyone you know might be interested in learning more about becoming a donor, please visit our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/kidney4Jake/ or message for more information.
Even if you can’t donate sharing his story could help us find the life-saving match he so desperately needs.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, generosity, support, and sharing.

With love and gratitude,
The Carlisle Crew
