JJ's Major Open Heart Surgery

Hi, I'm Crystal, Jakob's oldest sister and we (the family and I) have created this GoFundMe for Jakob Perez.

Jakob was doing an agility course at the Allen Fire Academy during an awards ceremony when he collapsed from sudden cardiac death. JJ's heart stopped and he was dead before he hit the ground with no pulse. Luckily, he was surrounded by EMS and fire staff who immediately got to work doing CPR. They quickly transported him to Texas Health in Allen where he was paddled by defibrillator and given epinephrine injection. They were able to revive him and get a pulse. Blessed by a miracle! He is on a ventilator, in critical condition but stabilized in the ICU.

We do not know the extent of damage to his brain yet. We have few answers as of now but we hope and pray together that the next 48-72 hours is full of healing. He is heavily sedated to promote healing and rest. We will check neuro activity as the days go on. God's will is strong in him!
