Support Jamal's Healing Journey

Lynn and Jamal affectionately known as “Lynmal” is the true definition of unconditional love. On April 16, 2020, Jamal’s life was forever changed when he suffered a devastating gunshot wound to his head that left him in a vegetative state. The doctors advised Lynn to consider organ donation, believing his injuries were too severe to recover, as he remained unresponsive to staff.

Lynn refused to give up on the man she loved and brought him home on hospice care. Believing in her faith and love, she encouraged Jamal to keep fighting. Through the grace of God and the power of prayer, she gave him hope and strength to face the journey ahead.

Jamal’s recovery has been nothing short of remarkable. His determination to regain his life is extraordinary, and he stands as a walking miracle, proving that with faith, love, and a strong support system, you can overcome any obstacles.

Jamal has permanent brain damage and is living with a traumatic brain injury, and suffers from short term memory loss. He has paralysis on the entire right side of his body and is unable to feel his right foot, which makes walking difficult. He currently uses the assistance of a walker and a drop foot brace to walk. He has neurological issues which cause him to have poor muscle control which affects his walking, balance, hand coordination, speech, swallowing, and eye movements. He has muscle atrophy on his right back shoulder blade which prevents him from holding his arm in its normal place. He is relearning how to read, write and count.

Jamal has not worked for over four years and Lynn is asking for financial assistance with the following:

He needs advance brain injury therapy which involves the use of robotic and computer-based training. Electrical stimulation techniques, which is not covered through his current insurance. He needs specialized in-home rehabilitation equipment, essential home modifications, cosmetic dentistry, a motorized scooter for independence, additional staff, transportation, socialization and extracurricular activities, therapy app subscriptions, and other services that can help Jamal sustain a good quality of life.
