Support James Kelly's Capstone Film "Safe House"
Donation protected
Hello! My name is James Kelly. I'm a 21-year-old filmmaker at Ohio University's School of Film. I've wanted to make movies since I was nine years old, and my time here has been a great opportunity to learn how and to improve my skills as a filmmaker. I just spent the summer in Los Angeles making a short film, and I'm super excited to get to turn around, come back to Athens, and do it all over again! Safe House is my capstone short film and the last project here at Ohio University before I graduate.
Safe House follows the Valentine family after a supposed break-in. Claire, the daughter, struggles to feel safe again in her home despite her family reassuring her that they are safe. This is a family drama thriller that aims to keep the audience guessing on whether or not what they're hearing and seeing is actually there. I had an incredibly active imagination as a kid, always thinking I saw creatures, people, or figures in the shadows late at night, and I want to recreate that experience for the audience of this film.
This project has a budget of $3,000, which will go to fund our location, set decoration and costuming, feeding our amazing cast and crew, film festival submissions (including Athens' own AIFVF), and whatever miscellaneous expenses pop up on set (because something is always bound to happen!).
Any donation you are able to give is greatly appreciated and any form of support you can provide goes a long way. I'm incredibly excited to be working on this project and to share it when it's completed!
**Gofundme goal is set to $3,100 because they take 2.9% + $0.30 per donation in order to keep themselves funded!
