Support Janeen’s Cancer Journey

Hello, my name is Janeen and I’ve been recently diagnosed with Stage IV (HER2+) Breast Cancer. Stage IV means that the cancer has metastasized. In my case, it has spread to my liver. At the urging of friends, I'm setting up this account to try to fundraise a bit to help with my growing medical bills. If you don't already know me, let me introduce myself...

I’m a 37 year-old, self-employed chiropractor and active osteopathic student who is trying to keep my small office afloat throughout my treatment. I’ve already hit many days where I just can’t get in to work on patients due to the way I feel. My job is very physical and I spend 60-90+ minutes with my each of my patients. I’m only 10 years into my practice and of course, never expected a diagnosis like this. No one does. I’ve always been a health nerd and have lived an active life, disc golfing and enjoying the outdoors. I’ve quickly learned that I need to better balance my work-life flow for me to survive this. I have many hobbies and hope to get back into pottery at some point, so I can make some gifts for those who have helped me along the way. I love life and have no intention of letting this take me out.

My first oncologist pushed for immediate chemotherapy right after diagnosis and told me I had a 56% chance of living 5 years… No one gets to say when you will expire, so I paused on making a treatment decision right away. I wanted to search for a more rounded oncologist who could be open to my more holistic therapies (and now I have an awesome one)! I also took a deep dive into the cancer literature and research, both in this country and others, and came across some real stars that help maintain your quality of life through this process and afterward. Just to name a few, I’ve been using therapies like high dose Vitamin C, hyperthermia, hyperbaric chambers, a strict keto diet, and mistletoe. I have also just started chemo to work in partnership with these other therapies. I plan to do vlogs and updates to help educate my followers on what I’ve been learning and implementing to help spread the word that there is a lot more than just surgery, chemo, and radiation when it comes to healing from cancer. I look at this diagnosis as an opportunity to become an even stronger individual and doctor, so that I may be able to help as many out there as are willing to listen. Thank you for reading my story, I hope you will find my journey enlightening, positive, and educational. Knowledge is power, and I intend to make this my life’s mission now that Stage IV Breast Cancer has entered my life.
