Please help support Janie Erickson's Healing Journey
Donation protected
Janie Erickson, our dear friend and family member, had brain surgery on September 10th to remove a large cavernous malformation on her brain stem. One month after surgery, unfortunately, Janie still remains on a ventilator and a feeding tube. She is unable to breathe on her own. Her sight and hearing have diminished significantly due to fluid and edema. She is unable to write, speak, or walk at this time. She was in St. Luke's ICU in Boise for 15 days, then transferred to Vibra Critical Care Hospital to work on weaning off the ventilator and to continue with physical and occupational therapy. The hard work continues, but the journey is proving to be very difficult and long. Janie has had pneumonia, edema, infections, and fevers that have impeded her healing. Her husband, Jade, remains by her side 24 hours a day, encouraging her, caring for her, and helping her along the way. Son Jett, Janie's mom Lois, and her childhood friend Tammy have also been staying in Boise to help. Tammy and Janie have been able to communicate using sign language that they learned together as young girls, and this has been a lifeline for Janie to be able to express herself.
Many of you have asked to help, and now, given the journey they face, help is needed and so much appreciated. The cost of medical expenses, loss of income, and the reality of long-term care and rehabilitation that will likely be needed for Janie is fast becoming a towering hurdle. Janie faces a long road ahead. This is a dark time for the family, and we are humbly asking for your support. All donations will go directly to the Ericksons to help pay for their unforeseen expenses. By uniting our efforts, we can truly make a difference during this devastating chapter in their lives.
Our sincere thanks on behalf of Janie, Jade, and family.
