Support Jara Harris through cancer treatment

Hi everyone. So we started this GoFund me page because Jara Harris was diagnosed with neck cancer this month (Metastatic Squamous Cell Carcinoma)  He will be starting Chemotherapy and radiation treatment in January, 5 days a week for at least 6-7 weeks. He will be fighting for his life. We need to pray that is hasn’t spread. Jara has never been the type to ask for help so we knew he would never do this by himself. But our dear friend Donovan Frankenreiter urged us to do this and we all agree it is what’s best for him and his family. Jara is a Life-Long musician and has touched so many people that he has came across in so many ways. And with being Musician/Performer, he will be out of a job throughout his treatment and recovery. With that, and all the Medical bills…he’s going to need all the help he can get from us! We don’t know just how long that is gonna take. It’s could be from weeks to month to a year. But we are still learning about the cancer. And it will take a huge toll on his body. But there is just so much uncertainty right now. We know that so many people love Jara and want to help him and his family with everything they are going to go through with all of this uncertainty.

“ My dad truly inspires me in every way. One thing he has instilled in me is to always be happy. He showed me that it’s possible to be happy every day, even when things get hard. So now, even with the cancer he lights up the room with his smile and laughter.

His passion for music is so powerful. The second he gets on the drum set something truly magical happens. It’s not just drums though, he has that effect with every instrument he plays. Being able to play in Slapbak with him is a privilege- to get to learn from him and share the stage with him.

Seeing him take a break from gigs and tours breaks my heart but I have faith he will be out there again soon. “
