Support Jason Cramer's Cancer Care

On December 17th, my father Jason Cramer was diagnosed with stage IV esophageal cancer. We've since learned the tumor is an aggressive adenocarcinoma that has spread to other organs throughout his body.
He has experienced rapidly worsening dysphagia (difficulty swallowing) and significant weight loss over the past few weeks. Thanksgiving was the last solid food, and it's now a struggle to get and keep liquids down. He also recently lost much of his vision on one side due to a new cancerous growth.
There are more complications, challenges to overcome, and appointments and procedures in the weeks ahead. A rough road to relief and recovery remains. If all goes well, a stent will be placed in the esophagus to allow him to swallow liquids consistently, and a port will be installed to begin chemo. Surgery is not an option at this point. Treatment will be aimed at stopping the spread and shrinking the tumor to allow for more options down the road. The real game plan though is to take things one step at a time to ensure his comfort and well-being are prioritized.
In the face of this unsettling diagnosis and every new, literal gut punch, dad has kept up his spirits and remained impressively stoic.
I'm back home to spend time with him, keep his care coordinated, advocate for his needs, and ensure treatment gets underway as soon as possible. He has qualified for Medicaid, so thankfully his medical bills are not a concern at this time.
This GoFundMe is aimed at raising funds to help with housing, transportation, food, and other basic life expenses as he receives care. He is currently living with family to ensure his needs are met.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Thank you for your love and support of my father and our family.
