Support Jason Farris Battling Stage IV Cancer

Donation protected
Update: 6/4/24

We want to extend our continued gratitude for the well wishes, prayers, support, and monetary donations. Jason continues to do well, with the most recent scans showing additional decrease in tumors and their size. The main tumor in his esophagus remains undetectable. The mass on his adrenal gland is also no longer delineated. The brain tumors have continued to decrease in size. The previously visible cancerous lymph nodes in his abdomen area are undifferentiated from the other lymph nodes. The lymph nodes in his throat/chest remain stable. And there are still no new growths!

Jason has remained positive and with the mindset that he has already beaten this. He continues with adjunctive treatments, along with chemo, including High Dose Vitamin C infusions, Sodium Bicarbonate infusions, and Hyperbaric Oxygen, as well as intermittent EB02 Ozone Therapy, which filters the blood and reduces inflammation from the body. He continues with morning meditations to set the framework for his day. His diet continues to be ultra clean and organic, demonstrating awe inspiring commitment and discipline. But as he says, "I have too much to live for." Much of his ongoing treatment would not be possible without the amazing support and contributions. Thank you again.

Update: 2/21/24

First, we would like to extend our deepest thanks for all the monetary donations, thoughts, prayers, well wishes, and generous offerings of assistance with food, the kids, and everything in between. We are overwhelmed with gratitude. The generosity shows how deep the love is for Jason.

We would also like to give an update on Jason’s progress. He had some recent scans, and they all show treatment is working and overall decrease in the size of the tumors! The primary tumor in his esophagus is nearly undetectable and per the report is “not clearly delineated.” There were actually three brain lesions, not two, and one is completely gone and two have decreased in size by more than half. Brain swelling is “much improved.” The lymph nodes in his abdomen area are decreased. The lymph nodes in his chest/throat area are unchanged but no spreading or enlarging is evident! There was also a mass on his adrenal gland which is now decreased in size.

We are overjoyed with this news. We whole heartedly believe this positive response is the result of a combination of the radiation, chemo, and integrative and alternative treatments, as well as Jason’s shift in eating, lifestyle, and his fighting spirit and positive mindset. We are not letting up to give this cancer a single chance to rear its ugly head. It is full steam ahead with continued treatment to rid his body of this invader. The donations will allow Jason to continue with treatments and God willing, be NED in the very near future! Thank you all again so much for your support and keep the positive thoughts and prayers coming!

Dear family, friends, and supporters:

On Nov. 2, 2023, Jason was enjoying his life as most of us do attending to responsibilities and looking forward to times of joy with no known physical ailments when he had a seizure. This was strange because he had never had a seizure in his 45 years. At first doctors thought it was a stroke. But the lesions in his brain did not present as a stroke would. With additional testing, on Nov. 4, 2023 he was diagnosed with Stage IV Esophageal Adenocarcinoma, with a 7cm tumor in his lower esophagus, two 1-1.5 cm lesions in his brain, cancerous lymph nodes around his abdomen and throat, and a small lesion on his pelvic bone. He was told surgery is not an option and any conventional treatments (radiation and chemo) would be “palliative” and would have to do chemo for the rest of his life. To say we were devastated is an understatement. But we are all grateful for the seizure as this gave Jason the needed information to begin treatment and rid himself of this cancer.

A son, brother, husband, and father of two children (ages 12 & 9), Jason is an amazing person who loves life and leaves his imprint wherever he goes. He is an active father who adores his children and loves nothing more than to watch them do sports. He is a coach on his kids’ basketball, baseball, and football teams and a referee in soccer, and enjoys giving back and contributing to the development of all the kids both on the field/court as well as in life. He is the patriarch of his family. He loves fatherhood and takes pride in providing a strong foundation for his children to develop into amazingly good, kind, and confident humans. His kids worship the ground he walks on. They love nothing more than to play a game of who loves who more and get the last “more” in either on the phone before they hang up or before they close a door. He is a devoted husband to his wife, Denise, of over 20 years and are as strong together as ever fighting this battle, finding joy and love in the small things. He is an adored son and brother. To know him is to love him. He has a big and gentle heart, unparalleled sense of humor, and infectious laugh. His moral compass points north and is vocal when situations arise and makes it a point to find teachable moments for his children. He makes friends easily and they become friends for life.

For Jason, the first 10 days following his diagnosis were dizzying and full of grief. All he could think about was ‘my kids, my family.’ For those that know him, it was no surprise that he then grounded himself, marshaled his will to live, and became focused and determined that this was not how his story ends. He is committed and has done what he has needed to do to help with his fight. He has stopped drinking alcohol, has eliminated sugar and simple carbs and his diet is now super clean and organic to help his body fight. He is taking numerous supplements to aide in his treatment and overall health. He is meditating, doing yoga, finding faith, exercising, and maintaining a positive attitude and fighting spirit.

To date Jason has had one round of stereotactic radiation on his brain on Nov. 30, 2023, and three cycles of chemotherapy since mid-Dec. 2023. As we understand it, conventional Western medicine of radiation and chemotherapy will not be enough for him to defeat this invader alone at its advanced stage. Jason will not resign to this. He thought ‘what else could there be,’ and was open to anything including less conventional methods to attack it from every angle. With feverish reading, research, and support, he learned about and has partnered with an integrative treatment provider that has a four pillar approach including comprehensive testing to identify the unique nature of his cancer; advanced treatment to attack the cancer, protect his normal cells, block the processes that supports cancer growth, heal underlying illnesses, and reduce side effects; immune boosting therapies to maximize his ability to fight the cancer; and identify and eliminate root causes that may fuel the cancer including gut health, heavy metals, toxins, molds, past trauma, and acute chronic infections. He is accessing treatments including High Dose Vitamin C Infusions, Mistletoe Infusions, Artesunate Infusions, Hyperbaric Oxygen, Ozone Therapy, Hyperthermia, and repurposed drugs all to help him heal and block cancer growth, while the conventional route kills the cancer that is there. These adjunctive and integrative treatments, along with his strong will and faith, provide hope for him to be NED (no evidence of disease)!

Jason has lived a wonderful life and one that we feel, God willing, he is not done with. Our family is hopeful his efforts along with the most advanced conventional and integrative treatments will be the key to healing him. We will do everything we can to help him get the best medical care to eradicate this invasive cancer. Our hope is that his health will be restored, he will see his children go through their many milestones growing up, getting married and having children, and continue with ways he can be active in the community and celebrate life with his family and friends.

All the treatments (both conventional and adjunctive) are becoming a financial struggle. The adjunctive treatments are not covered by insurance and are on average $10,000 per month. In addition, Jason has not been able to work full time both due to the myriad of appointments and treatments as well as the toll such treatments take on him physically, which adds to the financial strain. We are asking for any assistance to help Jason continue his fight. If you are not able to donate financially, thoughts and prayers are welcome. They all add up! Please pass along to anyone you know who may know Jason. We would like to share his story and get him as many thoughts and prayers as possible. Your contribution, no matter how small, will make a tremendous difference in providing comfort, support, hope and strength for Jason and his family. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
