Hello!
I am Jason Q. Brookins, co-founder of Question & Answer Productions and lead writer/creative director of our newest show, A History of Public Relations Dilemmae. This is our first show built from the ground up and we have big plans for it and future projects!
A bit about the show: A History of Public Relations Dilemmae is a joint effort by Q&A Productions and the Blasting Company. Set in a rustic, early-20th century American bar, the show follows two brothers, Alexander and Abernathy Petrojvic, who attempt to help the patrons with their various problems. Hilarity and hijinks ensue as each new patron asks them for help with their increasingly strange dilemmas. The fun is fleeting, however, as the brothers' work is interrupted when a mysterious stranger enters the bar with an unexpectedly familiar request for Abernathy...
A bit about the Blasting Company. The Blasting Company is a brass band/compositional group based out of L.A. who have been active for over a decade. Justin Rubenstein and Josh Kaufman of the Blasting Company have worked on a number of T.V. and film projects, such as Over the Garden Wall on Cartoon Network and Land of Forgotten Echoes. They have graciously lent their talent to this project!
A bit about Question and Answer Productions: Aiko Austin and Jason Q. Brookins founded Q&A Productions earlier this year to consolidate all of their theatrical projects into one place and give them a name. Mostly working with the Monticello Opera House to act in and direct shows, Q&A has plans to continue to write and produce plays/musicals of their own while continuing to direct and participate in other productions. Follow us on Instagram to see updates about this project and our other work!
A bit about the writer/director: Jason Q. Brookins is a novice playwright based out of Monticello. He is currently a student at Florida State University with plans to graduate in May with a degree in Creative Writing. He has worked on other writing projects in the past, but this will be his first major creative project.
How you can help: We are so happy to have partnered with the Monticello Opera House to see this production come to life! Because we are hoping to make this the best show it can be, we are looking for outside funding to improve the set, costumes, and props as well as putting together a stipend for the wonderful actors who will have put so much work into this piece by the time it goes up in late November of this year. Any little bit helps! Every dollar donated will increase the quality of this piece and support the numerous artists and creatives working on it. This is not a for-profit production! Every dollar not used to improve the show will be donated to the Monticello Opera House and other local theaters to spread the support and see other projects like this one come to life.
We appreciate everyone who contributes to our goal and hope to pay it forward in the future!
