Support Jaxson Cooper's NICU Journey

Hello everyone!!

As everyone knows our sweet Jaxson Cooper was born just a tad early at 36w 5d with a couple conditions the one we knew about before hand is a heart condition called VSD where essentially he has a hole in his heart that needs to be monitored and potentially require heart surgery to have the hole repaired as he gets older. He’s was also born with a cleft palate which was undiagnosed until birth he is currently in the NICU at UK and seems to be doing excellent since being there! So far they have gotten to lower his CPAP to a level five which is the lowest setting, he’s on 21% room oxygen so he requires no extra oxygen, they have lowered his bed temperature because he’s is starting to maintain his own body temp! But he does have to have a speech therapist consult and start the process of finding out what kind of nipple he would need and get him eating on his own before he can come home, before they can start doing that they have to get him weaned off his CPAP completely first! So he still has at least a few more weeks in the NICU before coming home and as any other parent would we would like to go see our sweet boy as much as possible! Unfortunately Derrick is the sole income of our family and due to the holidays and weather he hasn’t gotten to work in a few weeks and we have no idea when it will pick back up so we’re coming to everyone to ask for a little help! Any and everything will be appreciated even if all you can give is your prayers we will happily accept anything!

we have applied for the Ronald McDonald house and have been put onto the waiting list but there are three other families in-front of us so we’re not sure when we would be able to get in there!

We would like to make it VERY known this money will only be used for traveling, food, and possibly a few nights in a motel close until we can get into the Ronald McDonald house! Thank you in advanced!
