Support Jay Healer's Journey to Recovery
Donation protected
Jay and Catherine Healer, and their young daughter Kynlee, have been through the unimaginable these last two months, and sadly the time is coming to make hard decisions. Catherine now only working part time since being diagnosed with breast cancer in September and Jay unable to work at all due to suffering a stroke from cardiac arrest in October, the family is now possibly having to make the decision to relocate homes and discuss long term care options for Jay. Although we are hopeful that Jay will recover, we are uncertain of the extent of damage still that the stroke caused. We are trusting in our Lord to restore his body to health so that Jay may live a long, meaningful life with his beautiful family. Prayers will truly mean the most to this family. Thank you for all the support from family and friends, and the community.
update 11/14/24
It’s touch and go. Still too soon to tell if he’s gonna recover fully. He’s still in the hospital, and we plan to have him go to an intense rehab facility for about 2 weeks to see what he can actually do and regain first. He’s sleeping a lot right now. He knows who we all are and he’s talking a little (very, very slurred), but the big question is will he be able to care for himself, and we just don’t know the answer to that yet. Good news, his MRI this week does show improvement with his brain function. Doctors are still saying he just needs more time (and a miracle).
