Support Jay Locke's Journey with Guillian Barre

Donation protected
Update:
We are so thankful for all of you who have donated so far. We have been able to get the equipment we need so far and are in the process of learning to use it to make Jay’s life easier.
Jay’s legs are almost completely paralyzed. He has to be moved from his bed to the wheelchair or car with a transport device. His arms and hands have become weaker over time even with exercises.
We are concerned with this development as he is unable to move his body as much as we would like. Most days he is still in good spirits but of course there are very hard days when he wants to give up.
Nova, his 4-year old granddaughter has been able to spend time with him and is in love with playing with him and getting to know him. Cecelia, his 6-year old granddaughter who is on the autism spectrum is a harder nut to crack. Since he can’t move around and play with her, which is what she likes, this relationship will take longer to develop.
Please keep helping our family with all the future challenges we will face. Any amount you donate will help us deal with what looks like a life long situation. Again, if you can’t donate continue to share Jay’s story. We’re hoping that the more people that we reach, the better. God bless!

UPDATE: Jay is now unable to transfer to his wheelchair due to increased weakness in his upper body. He is very discouraged by this development but still trying to do his upper body physical therapy. His future is unclear at this point. Please help him if you can by donating. Any amount will help. Thank you to all who have donated so far.
Included here are some pictures from the past.

The picture above is Jay and his daughter, Dylan, a few years back. The good old days. We are fundraising for my ex-husband, Jonathan (Jay) Locke.
Jay started having pain and weakness in his lower extremities and eventually became unable to stand at all. After two hospital stays he was diagnosed with Guillian Barre Syndrome. This is a rare condition that shows up mostly in older men. It has changed everything about his life.
We have moved him out of his house and into my apartment because he cannot care for himself any longer. According to his neurologist, because of the length of time it took to diagnose his condition, it is unlikely that he will ever walk again.
This is a condition that comes on fast and out of the blue. It has taken us by surprise and he is financially unprepared for the expenses that come with it.
Our main concern right now is getting him to and from doctor appointments and physical therapy. His insurance does not include transportation expenses so it is up to us to pay $220 every time he has to leave the house.

I am reaching out for help for these expenses for this much loved friend, father and “Grandude”. Please help with what you can as every little bit helps.
Thank you in advance and please keep our family in your prayers.
