Support Jay Michalak and Family

Donation protected
To Jay's family, loved ones, friends, and tattoo community,

Early last week Jay became sick at home with what he thought may be the flu or viral infection. His symptoms worsened quickly and on April 19, 2023, Jay was taken by ambulance to Beverly Hospital for respiratory effort. Within hours Jay was sedated and placed on a ventilator. He was diagnosed with a severe case of aspiration pneumonia and sepsis. On day 5, Jay’s kidneys started failing and he was immediately transferred to Lahey Burlington to start dialysis. He’s had some ups and downs since he began his ICU stay, but continues to fight and show his heart, as he’s done many times in his life. Jay has been surrounded by family, close friends and an incredible team of nurses and doctors.

Those who know Jay, know he is truly one of a kind. He’s the life (and sometimes the inappropriate humor) of any family gathering, party, or conversation. There’s never a dull moment when he’s around. On top of being a talented tattoo artist- Jay is a dedicated father to his boys Nate and Jax, and life partner to his wife Ashley. He is a cherished brother, son, father, and friend to so many. He’s is the kind of guy that would drop everything for anyone close to him, in their time of need. Jay is tough on the outside but immensely big-hearted on the inside.

At this time Jay is still sedated and in serious condition. The extent of time he will spend in the ICU is unknown, but his doctors are hopeful his condition will improve. Once Jay starts to recover, the rehabilitation process will be extensive.

Collectively, as Jay’s siblings in collaboration with Ashley, we are here to humbly ask for help to ease the financial stresses Jay’s family will face. Ashley, the boys, and the rest of Jay's family are grateful for the support we have had surrounding us. If you can - please donate, share, send love, prayers, and healing energy to our brother.

With Love,
Jenn, Steve, Brian, and Ashley
