Jay Brian Renk passed away peacefully in his home in the early morning hours of August 5, 2024 at only 63 years old. He was surrounded by the love of his children. Many friends and family members reached out to us during this time with stories and memories to share with our Dad. His heart was warmed by this and we made sure he knew how many people loved him before he left us. Our hearts are broken from the loss, but we are beyond grateful to have been able to share our final moments with the man who raised us.

We are collecting donations to help use ease the financial burden of Jay's final expenses. Any amount will help us move forward during this life-altering loss. Contributions will be used to cover our Dad's final expenses. More information on Jay's medical journey that led to his passing can be found below. Details for a celebration of life are soon to follow.

On May 16th, Jay underwent triple bypass open-heart surgery. At the time of the operation, he was expected to make a mostly full recovery. Unfortunately, he has suffered multiple complications since the surgery including a series of strokes, COVID, encephalopathy, and a subsequent Parkinson's diagnosis. Many treatment paths were taken but have ultimately failed. He was discharged from his physical therapy program at the rehabilitation center at St Francis Hospital on July 30th, and placed in home hospice care where he will spend the remainder of his life surrounded by family.

We started this fundraiser in hopes to ease the financial burden of preparing our father for his end-of-life transition. Any contributions will go to Jay's end-of-life expenses, funeral costs and to allow us to provide our Dad with the most comfortable experience possible as we prepare to weather this immeasurable loss.
