Support Jayme Stites' Battle Against Cancer

Hello, my name is Malissa Streeter, and my sister Jayme Stites was just diagnosed with cancer on 9/26. Jayme is the mom of two adult sons and has two beautiful granddaughters. Jayme works as a bus monitor for First Student in Junction City on a Special Ed bus and is going to try to keep working during this process.

She was admitted to KU at the beginning of the week, and they found an 18x25 cm mass in her abdomen. She does not have insurance. The hospital is trying to help her get on emergency Medicaid. If she does not get Medicaid, we need 30-50k for her to be able to start chemo as a self-pay patient.

They are still trying to determine the exact type of cancer, so they know how to move forward with the correct chemotherapy. We are hoping to have the full pathology back by the beginning of next week. They live near Junction City, Kansas, nearly two hours from KU. They will try to do chemo closer to home if possible, but doctor visits will be at KU.

We are starting this at 10k to help pay for the initial medical bills and to give them money for gas and food for the trips back and forth and hotel stays if needed. If she cannot continue to work, this money will be used to help pay their monthly bills.
