Support Jed Lackritz After Eaton Fire

Donation protected
Like so many others, our dear Jed lost his longtime home and all his possessions in the Eaton fire this week. Since 2012, Jed has gradually transformed his ramshackle cabin into a beautiful paradise of books, art, and a playground for his beloved cat Lalo.

Jed Lackritz is one of a kind. Really. He is a pillar of every community: a devoted neighbor, friend, colleague; a supporter of all kinds of creative people, communities, and causes—the more idiosyncratic the better.

While Jed works in the Editorial Department at Dreamworks, he has, over the years, shared his time, energy, and resources with an incredibly wide range of people and creative organizations.

You may have been greeted by Jed from his perch in the Museum of Jurassic Technology’s lobby/gift shop/ticket desk. He is the Museum’s irreplaceable longtime event coordinator. Or, you may have seen Jed at the Bob Baker Marionette Theater in Highland Park, where he has been a dedicated volunteer for years and was integral to their move to their current theater in Highland Park. Or you may have encountered him in various roles at the Center for Land Use Interpretation, The Velaslavaysay Panorama, the Stringed Crane Conservatory, the Livonian Cinema, or Angel City Press.

Jed’s presence in Los Angeles is ubiquitous, as is his generosity and sense of humor.

This fundraiser aims to help Jed get back on his feet as he, with Lalo, figures out his next steps. Your support will help to cover the innumerable things that won’t be covered by FEMA or insurance. (We all know Jed doesn't love asking for help, but after much badgering by his friends, this GoFundMe has been set up with his permission.)

This fundraiser is managed by Alex Evans – I met Jed through the Bob Baker Marionette Theater in Los Angeles, CA and am a longtime friend, a witness and recipient of the enduring love that he gives to our city and the people around him. 100% of the proceeds will go directly to Jed Lackritz.
