Support for the family of Jeff McBride
Donation protected
Jeff McBride, age 31, tragically lost his life in a homicide the evening of Monday, April 25, in Denton, his hometown. As police investigate and his beloved family — parents Glen and Ellen McBride, brother Andy McBride, sister Katy McBride, and niece Kelsie — attempt to hold together a shattered reality, financial support for his sister and best friend Katy and her daughter is direly needed and appreciated.
Katy and Kelsie will need to travel back and forth to Texas from their current home in Colorado over the coming weeks as the family lays Jeff to rest and mourns this horrible loss.
The last thing we (Katy's friends) want Katy to worry about right now is paying for airfare, travel expenses, or counseling while she and Kelsie try to survive this tornado of pain and heartbreak.
Katy gave permission to create this fundraiser, and it is connected to her bank account. Every dime will go to Katy McBride to cover expenses during the upcoming weeks. The Texas crime victims fund will be covering funeral expenses.
Thank you for any help you can offer to lift up Jeff's family.
Message from Katy, posted the morning of April 26 on Facebook, after the family learned of Jeff's tragic passing:
Today is the saddest day of my life.
Rest peacefully in the arms of Jesus my precious brother. We are all distraught here without you. Your niece, your brother, your parents, your cousins, Aunts and Uncles and friends, and me. I can barely breathe.
I ask you all to please support my family in the coming weeks and months that will be the hardest and darkest we’ve ever faced. If you pray, please pray. Jeff believed in God fiercely and his faith gives me comfort in this moment where I’m grasping at even existing in a world without him.
There will be answers soon but for now please don’t tag me, Jeff, Andy, my daughter or any family member in any posts you may see in the coming hours or days for our privacy and protection while the police do their job to ensure the person who murdered Jeff is apprehended. If you have any details regarding his tragic death contact Denton PD and give them all the info you have. I have never felt this level of pain ever. Every fiber of my being is aching. I have never heard screams and cries like I have over the last 12 hours, and I have never cried like this in my life. I’m having to be physically carried back to the United States.
These have been the longest 12 hours of my life and I know this is the beginning of a very long road without you, and an entire lifetime ahead of me without you. I don’t know how I will do it, I miss you so much already.
Please refrain from calling my parents at this time and I probably cannot respond to your messages quickly. If you want to send them something in Denton there are details in the comments. I’m flying on an emergency flight from Nassau to Denver to my daughter to get to her and I have my friend physically helping me put one foot in front of the other.
If you want to send something to us in Denver ... We will definitely be needing your support in many ways and I have never felt this helpless & in need of help.
Baby brother until we meet again. My life will never be the same.
