Support Jeff Tirschman & His Family
Donation protected
Update: One of the major concerns at this moment is going to be the anticipated cost traveling with a wound vac, specialized care, and potentially alternative medical air transportation, including transporting his son to Johns Hopkins once back in Baltimore.
Thank you to all who have generously donated thus far, Jeff and his family are very grateful for the support!
My name is Keith Karas, and I serve as the vice president of human resources for WBCM, a division of TranSystems. One of our respected and dear employees, Jeffrey Tirschman (of our GSI department), was vacationing with his family and on August 2nd they were passengers on a charter bus to sightsee the Grand Canyon. During their travel, the bus was involved in an accident with another vehicle, causing the bus to roll over, killing one passenger and injuring 50. Jeff and his family were among those injured - his son was severely injured and airlifted to University Medical Center Las Vegas (in the photo, you can see Jeff sitting down as his son is airlifted). Seven others were airlifted to other hospitals.
While all of this is heartbreaking, Jeff is really in a tight spot as he and his family members (wife, daughter, mother-in- law) are all recuperating from their injuries in a Las Vegas hotel; the hotel said he has to vacate on Saturday morning as there are expected guests to arrive and they need the room where he is staying. Jeff's son will need more surgeries and is expected to be in the hospital for another two weeks.
Please understand that any donation you make to help Jeff out through this tragedy is purely voluntary, and in no way is required by you as an employee of WBCM, TranSystems, or any other entity associated with Jeff or his employment. I am just creating a mechanism for Jeff to receive some funding as many people have asked how they could assist Jeff.
