Support Jeffrey Timberlake's Family in Their Time of Loss

Jeffrey Timberlake was more than just a strong, loving husband, father, brother, and son—he was a pillar of strength for everyone who knew him. From a young age, life challenged him in ways that would break most. Diagnosed with juvenile diabetes at just eight years old, Jeffrey faced a lifelong battle that would eventually take a grave toll on his health. Yet, despite the odds, he never allowed his condition to define him.

Jeffrey's greatest joy came from the connections he made and the family he built with his beloved wife, Jenifer. Together, they created a life full of love and meaning, even as they navigated the heartache of his declining health. At 29, Jeffrey's fight took a new turn when he began to experience kidney failure. The grueling reality of daily 10-hour dialysis sessions would have drained anyone, but Jeffrey endured it all with unwavering determination. He continued to work, to provide, and to be there for his family because they gave him a reason to push through the pain and exhaustion.

His love for his wife and children taught him a powerful lesson: there is strength in vulnerability. He realized that he was not defined by his illness, that he could be more than just a diabetic patient. This realization ignited a new resolve in Jeffrey. He became intentional about his health, refusing to be a victim of his condition any longer. He enrolled at The Hume-Lee Transplant Center for a kidney transplant, and though the wait was long, 4 years to be exact, his spirit remained strong. But time was not on Jeffrey's side, and his health continued to decline.

Jenifer, ever the devoted partner, refused to give up. She found hope at the Sentara Transplant Center, where Jeffrey was eligible for both a pancreas and kidney transplant. This meant that, for the first time in over 30 years, Jeffrey would no longer need to take insulin. Within a year, Jeffrey was called to receive the gift of life—a new beginning.

On June 28th, 2024, Jeffrey underwent surgery with his family by his side, ready to embrace his second chance. But fate had other plans. At first, it was informed the kidney and pancreas transplant surgery was successful, but complications arose. His surgical staples became infected, and he developed a distended colon, which required two additional surgeries. Jenifer, steadfast and unwavering, stayed by his side, sacrificing her job to care for the man she loved more than anything. The final surgery was devastating—he lost 8 pints of blood after his vena cava burst, and his newly transplanted pancreas failed. Although this meant he would become a diabetic again, it was still better than the daily 10 hour hemodialysis sessions. Despite all he endured, Jeffrey remained hopeful, believing that this struggle would lead to a better life.

After 36 days in the hospital, he was finally discharged on August 2, 2024 and Jeffrey returned home to his family. They began to plan for their future, even as they faced the daunting task of moving to a new home. Jeffrey seemed to be on the mend, filled with optimism for what lay ahead. Tragically, just three days later, on the evening of August 5th, surrounded by the family he cherished, Jeffrey was called home. His sudden passing has left his loved ones shattered, facing a future without their anchor.

In the wake of this unimaginable loss, Jeffrey's family is not only grieving the man they loved but also grappling with financial uncertainty. They are now faced with the daunting reality of moving on without him, both emotionally and financially.

We ask for your support during this difficult time. Every contribution to our fundraising campaign will help Jeffrey's family cover his memorial, medical and their moving expenses, allowing them the time they need to heal and grieve without the added burden of financial instability. Your generosity, no matter the amount, will make a profound difference in their lives.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for standing by Jeffrey's family during this heartbreaking time. Your kindness will help them find some light in their darkest days.
