Support Jeffrey's 2nd Hip Surgery

Hi, my name is Tanya and I am trying to raise funds for my 25 year old son, Jeffrey. At the end of 2022 Jeffrey was diagnosed with hip impingements in both hips. His left hip was priority at the time and he had surgery on the left hip in February of 2023. He knew that he would have to deal with the right hip at some point but had hoped it would hold off a few years. Unfortunately, he has been experiencing the same problems now with his right hip as he had with the left side.He is going to need the same surgery on his right hip now at some point this year. They will shave down the excess bone and repair/reconstruct the labrum depending on the severity once they get in. He already had the X-rays and MRI hip arthrogram done. He has a large impingement (extra bone in the hip socket, a birth defect, rubbing together causing damage to the labrum), deteriorating labrum and a tear in the labrum. This also causes arthritis which he now has in both hips. The next step is to figure out when and how Jeffrey can get this done this year.

He has a good job which he loves and is very fortunate to have medical insurance but as many of you know, even if you have health insurance, pre-deductible and out of pocket costs add up quickly. Add that to lost wages and suddenly the medical bill becomes overwhelming. He is still paying off last year's medical bills and recovering from not working for almost half the year.

Once Jeffrey has the surgery, he is non-weight bearing for 6-8 weeks, in an immobilizer brace, and unable to work for approximately 5 months. He will also have regular physical therapy.

I realize that everyone has so much going on these days and everyone has struggles. Jeffrey is a hard worker and has worked continuously since highschool despite the pain this has caused. He's only 25 and just wants to be able to move on with his life but this has made it very difficult and prevents him from working some days because the pain is excruciating and he is unable to bend or walk on those days. The arthritis just increases the situation.
