Support Jeff’s Fight Against Cancer
The beginning of May 2021, my brother Jeff Vajda (seen in photo with 3yo nephew) was diagnosed with allergies and a severe ear infection after an exam with an Urgent Care facility. His symptoms were swelling/redness of the face and elevated blood pressure. Following a round of antibiotics and zero relief, Jeff eventually found himself at the Emergency Room- after a thorough exam the doctor ordered a CT Scan and the results would change his life forever.
A large mass was discovered in his chest behind his vital organs and a biopsy was ordered immediately. After a week of anxiously waiting, his results came back, my big brother has cancer.
Jeff’s diagnosis is Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma. DLBCL is an aggressive form of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma that affects lymphocytes (white blood cells), which help form antibodies to fight off infection. Due to its aggressive nature, Jeff’s oncologists are fighting fire with fire and also treating his cancer aggressively. He will be hospitalized while he receives 24 hour a day chemotherapy for 5 days, then he will have two weeks out of the hospital and return for another 5 day chemo treatment- he will do this for 6 cycles. He is in for a long 4 months and will be out of work for a period of time, possibly longer depending on the success of chemo. He is unaware that we are starting a Go Fund Me because in true Jeff fashion, he would give everyone their money back. We appreciate the support to help lessen the financial burden that comes along with a cancer diagnosis. We want Jeff’s head in this fight and focused on his health and not his finances. We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts- Jeff WILL beat cancer.
