Domestic violence is a serious issue that impacts many individuals and families. Jema Donahue is a survivor of domestic violence who was recently released from prison where she served 7.5 years for saving her own life. Some of you may have seen her story (or parts of it) on television shows. Jema wants nothing more than to focus on healing, growing, and having the opportunity to be with her family again. While in prison many teeth were pulled from her mouth because of severe damage from her husband wrapping a belt with a large metal buckle around his fist and punching her repeatedly in the side of the face. She is applying for jobs and having difficulty because of her conviction of a violent crime although she’s not considered (nor is she) a violent individual. Her goal is to find steady employment so she can care for her elderly parents and live a life of true freedom for once. If you would like to help Jema recover and succeed mentally, physically, emotionally, or financially in any way, please consider donating. 100% of money raised will go to Jema’s reentry.
