Support Jenna’s Fight Against Breast Cancer!

Donation protected
Hello everyone!

As most of you know, our fun-loving, sassy, positive, fierce, loyal pal Jenna was diagnosed with Stage II Breast Cancer at the beginning of June. Many have asked me how we can best support her during this time. She will undoubtedly have many medical expenses throughout her course of treatment and to help reduce the stress of meeting deductibles, copays, procedures not covered by insurance and anything else along the way, she has given her blessing for me to create this page for her.

Jenna has requested that the link to this page not be shared on social media and kept amongst friends and family. If you have questions about sharing this link, please ask me (Sarah Bartosik) as to not burden Jenna with this task.

Jenna will be the sole recipient of all contributions. She is also accepting happy thoughts, prayers, good vibes and whatever positive things you want to send her way! See her story she shared below!

Now let’s help our girl beat this! #JStrong

“June 10th, 2022.

The day I was diagnosed with stage II breast cancer at the ripe age of 24.

They say God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers & for that I have faith. June 10th was the day my battle started, but the treatment has just begun. Beginning July 28th, I will be going through 16 rounds of chemotherapy, a double mastectomy with reconstruction and radiation therapy over the next 9-12 months. Something no one expects to have to go through in the midst of their 20s: before love, before children, before most of life.

But, it’s due to my self diligence for my own health that I found the dominant tumor while doing my bi-monthly self breast exam. Given my family history, I immediately talked to my parents about it and we got into my doctor as soon as possible. Because of this, my life will be long and full of beauty - I’m just taking a little detour and weathering this storm.

To be clear, I’m not sharing this for pity nor am I sharing this for personal recognition. I’m sharing this for all the men, women, non-binary folx and young people to open their eyes to this reality - Cancer doesn’t care what your gender is. Cancer doesn’t care how old you are. If it wasn’t for me doing my own screenings and being diligent about follow ups, my outcome could have looked VERY different. DO your self breast exams. KNOW your family history. FIND a doctor you trust. And for god sakes follow through if you find something suspicious.

We only get one life & that life should be valued. I know that I’m on this planet for a reason. What that reason is, I’m not too sure yet. But what I do know, is I’m fighting like hell to continue to be here and enjoy it with all of you. For now, this is in God’s hands, the hands of my team at the University of Michigan and my own hands to put up one hell of a fight.

So, here’s to life and the detours that come. Here’s to fighting the biggest battle of my life. And here’s to a big F*** YOU CANCER. God isn’t ready for me yet. Love Always, Jenna”
