Support Jenna in her recovery after amputation
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Jenna and I am a 29 year old yoga instructor, sound healing practitioner and tarot card reader. In May of 2023, I was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer known as a malignant triton sarcoma in my leg. There are less than 100 reported cases of this type of cancer and very little is known about it. After the diagnosis, doctors recommended a severe and extensive treatment plan that would have required intense radiation followed by invasive surgery. I decided to pursue a natural treatment plan using acupuncture, homeopathy and energy work. By August of 2023, the tumor had grown so large that I lost the complete function of my leg and foot. After running several tests, including a full body PET scan, doctors were shocked that the cancer did not metastasize to other parts of the body within those 5 months, and gave credit to all the holistic healing methods I used. By September, the pain and size of the tumor was so large that I was bed-bound. At this point, doctors gave me two choices- the first being to admit myself into palliative care and allow the cancer to spread, ultimately ending my life, or to move forward with an above-knee amputation to save my life.
At the end of October, I decided to go through with the amputation and move forward with my life with a prosthetic limb. After being in the hospital and then a rehab facility for two months, I am finally back home where I continue to heal emotionally, mentally and physically from this life-altering event. As I continue to pursue holistic methods of treatment in order to keep my body healthy, I am now in the lengthy process of getting a prosthetic limb which is very expensive. I still have so much I want to do and accomplish in my lifetime. I am determined to move through this and continue to teach yoga, dance, run, travel and enjoy an active lifestyle. Although this has been very difficult both emotionally and physically, I want to use my experience to help other amputees navigate through their own challenging experiences and guide them through a process that can feel incredibly scary and isolating.
This is where I need your help. Having been unable to work for several months, my medical bills, the cost of my prosthesis, the cost of living and my continued holistic care have been a huge financial burden. Any donations or contributions would be so appreciated to keep me going on my recovery journey. I understand times are tough, and if you are unable to donate, please consider spreading the word and sharing my story!
Lots of love,
Jenna
