Help Jennifer Perez Fight Autoimmune Encephalitis Syndrome
Jennifer Perez, a loving and dedicated NYC childcare provider, has spent her life caring for children—from tiny infants just 6 weeks old to young teens up to 13. She is not only a trusted caregiver but also a proud mother of two young men, and a woman who has always gone above and beyond to support those around her.
Now, Jennifer needs our support.
Recently, Jennifer was unexpectedly diagnosed with autoimmune encephalitis, a rare and serious condition where the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks the brain. The immune system attempting to fight the virus could cause the death of infected brain cells which is often permanent damage. As shocking as it sounds—her own brain is attacking her. She has been hospitalized for several weeks and is currently in the ICU in a Staten Island hospital. This condition has also left her visually impaired, compounding the already difficult challenges she faces.
No one can ever be truly prepared—mentally or financially—for such a life-altering event. While Jennifer keeps an incredibly positive spirit, the weight of mounting medical expenses, lost income, and long-term recovery costs is overwhelming.
That’s where we come in.
We’re asking friends, family, and compassionate hearts to help ease Jennifer’s burden. Every donation, no matter how small, will go toward:
Medical and rehabilitation expenses
Support for her household during this difficult time
Long-term care and vision-related needs
Please give what you can—and if you're not able to give right now, sharing this campaign with your network would mean the world.
Jennifer has spent her life caring for others. It’s our turn to care for her. ❤️
With love and gratitude,
Friends & Family of Jennifer Perez
