Support Jensen Guitar & Music Shop
Donation protected
Hello Santa Barbara! We are a local band called exPorter and we’re asking for your help in supporting a music shop that means a lot to us and our community. Jensen Guitar & Music has been a Santa Barbara go to for musicians since 1973 and like many local and small businesses, they have been crushed but this stupid pandemic.
Obviously when you think of a music shop most people think retail but Jensen's offers more than just selling guitars. There are 8 instructors that used to give lessons there and they can’t do face to face lessons in the shop. There's also the side stage they use for things like open mics, band camp, or even hosting bands like ours – everything there has been impacted.
Our band has been lucky enough to play some shows over the past couple of years there and it has become our sort of home away from home. Obviously due to CORONA there was no real show this year but we were able to shoot some videos and when we were rehearsing for that we kept realizing this was something bigger than our band . We weren’t able to have any fans around while we shot our video but that’s nothing compared to the shop not having as many customers as they’re used to.
While Jensen's has limited income, they also have mounting bills for utilities and rent, their staff and instructor hours have been cut and they are tens of thousands of dollars behind due to this thing.
We’re just a tiny band out of SB and will do what we can, but as a community maybe we can help out a great shop! Anything donated goes straight to the shop to help them out so we appreciate any support.
