Support Jeremy's Journey to Recovery

Dear Friends,

As you may know, our good friend Jeremy suffered a stroke in early May. After spending nine days in the hospital recovering and undergoing testing, his medical team was not able to identify a probable cause. The good news is that his prognosis is very positive and he is expected to make a full recovery. One of the most noticeable signs of his stroke was difficulty expressing and understanding written and spoken language (aphasia). Thankfully, over the last couple months that has much improved, but he is still dealing with diminished energy levels and returning symptoms if he pushes himself too much. Doctors have told him to focus on rest and recovery for an undetermined number of months depending on his progress, and then to slowly increase the amount of work as he is able. If he returns to work too quickly, it could cause setbacks in recovery and possibly lead to a stroke reoccuring, so he will likely not be able to work as much as usual for quite a while. In addition to recovering, he’s spending considerable time at follow-up care appointments with speech therapy and neurology. In order to help him make a full recovery without financial stress, we’re asking for help covering his living expenses during this period of time. Jeremy is someone who gives generously to the people and places around him through music, land restoration, teaching, and more. This is a way we can give back to him and show our support and appreciation for all he does in our community. Our hope is that, with a little help from friends, we can give him the gift of rest so that he can come out of this renewed, healed, and better able to participate in all of the things that bring so much joy and meaning to his life and the lives of so many others.
