Support Jerry Ross's Legacy Art Exhibit
Donation protected
I am Jerry Ross, an artist (painter) who, having reached the age of 80, am preparing a legacy retrospective exhibit for June-July in 2026 to be held in Eugene, OR where I have lived and worked since 1974. Prior to Eugene and during the sixties, I was active against war and fascism in Buffalo, NY and the first chair of the Martin Sostre (a famous Black bookstore owner and advocate for prisoner rights) Defense Committee. As an arts activist in Eugene, I helped create the New Zone Art Collective (in its first reincarnation), Downtown Initiative for the Visual Arts, Salon des Refuses, and POEM (Post Office to Eugene Museum), an attempt to purchase the downtown P.O. and turn it into a municiple art museum (which Eugene lacks). The money raised will be for operating expenses, rents, shipping fees, insurance, and publicity.
