Honoring Jessica Nelson – Memorial & Family Support Fund
With heavy hearts, we share the unexpected passing of Jessica Nelson in the early morning of Monday, March 3rd, 2025. Born on May 2nd, 1976, Jessica was more than a mother, a friend, or a familiar face on Vashon Island—she was truly one of the kindest and most caring people you could ever meet, with a way of lighting up every room she walked into.
Jessica was known for her warmth, generosity, and quick sense of humor, always making those around her feel loved and welcomed. She built a lifetime of friendships and left an unforgettable mark on the island. Many knew her from Becks Bakery, Subs to Go, The Red Bicycle, and The Hardware Store Restaurant, where she was a friendly face and a cherished part of the community.
Beyond her work, Jessica was happiest when she was surrounded by friends and family, laughing, sharing stories, and enjoying life to the fullest. She had a deep love for the beach, camping, and the simple joys of the outdoors. As a devoted mother of five and a nanny to many children on the island, she gave her heart selflessly to those she cared for.
As we navigate this heartbreaking loss, we are raising funds to help cover funeral and memorial expenses to give Jessica the farewell she deserves. These funds will go directly toward:
• Funeral and burial costs
• Memorial service arrangements
• Travel and lodging expenses for close family attending the service
If we receive more than what is needed for these expenses, any additional funds will be used to support Jessica’s children and family during this difficult time, ensuring they have the help they need as they grieve this unimaginable loss.
We will also be holding a Celebration of Life in Jessica’s honor, and details will be shared soon.
We appreciate any support, whether it’s a donation, a kind word, or simply sharing this fundraiser. Jessica’s love, laughter, and kindness touched so many lives, and we want to honor her memory in the way she deserves. Thank you for being part of her life and for keeping her spirit alive in our hearts. With love and gratitude, The Nelson/ Eller family.
