Support Jessie: Lost Everything in Fire

My Christmas present I never opened from 2 years ago…

All my Christmas ornaments are gone.

My entire wardrobe is GONE!

Hi Everyone,

My name is Jessie. I live in Woodbridge, VA. Yesterday, while I was at work, my basement apartment burned down due to an electrical fire. It started in my bedroom with an Apple charger on my nightstand.

I’ve lost all my belongings and my entire apartment. I did not have renter's insurance because I was planning to move at the beginning of the year and I was trying to save money.

I was attending a women’s church event the night before and was at work all day while my life was going up in flames.

I’m grateful to be alive and I praise God for keeping me safe from harm.

I own the clothes on my back and I have a great job with a wonderful team of people.

I have lost my home and everything in it because the house has been marked as unsafe.

The Red Cross provided me with a three-night stay in a hotel, and my job has provided me with a coat and uniform shirts for work.

I lost my pictures, keepsakes of my kids, and everything I owned.

I now understand how the people in California must feel.

This is devastating. I thank God for His tender mercies and hand of provision.

If you have the means or would like to help, I’ve started this GoFundMe to help get me a place to live, some clothes, and things I need to replace.

My landlord has insurance on the property, but she is stuck in Peru for the foreseeable future and has not initiated a claim. In the meantime, I am left to fend for myself.
