Hello, I'm country music star, Jette Porrazzo. You may have heard my songs on country radio. Since 2022, I have been getting national and international radio play. I also work part-time as a tailor in Nashville.
I am self-employed and will be unable to work for 2 months due to upcoming major abdominal surgery to remove a LARGE mass (unknown type) that is causing a large umbilical hernia, and wrapped itself around my belly button - it is growing fast and has changed from soft and squishy to hard and large, moving upwards towards my stomach.
10/28/24 - I listened to my gut and got a 2nd opinion at St. Thomas Hospital, I found a great surgeon. 10/31/24 I had another CT with oral and IV contrast. I'm so glad I was led to see an oncology and general surgeon and sought a 2nd opinion. God led me to the right doctor! She found another smaller mass as well.
I go back to see my surgeon next week.
My doctors here in Nashville have adamantly expressed that I will need round-the-clock care prior to being released from the hospital. My insurance will only pay for someone to come in 30hrs a week for 2 weeks. I'm single and I live alone with my service dog, and my elderly mother lives in NV.
I do have a few friends that could take turns looking in on me, but they all have busy lives and work constantly. So, I will have to hire a day nurse and overnight nurse for 6-8 weeks. They are saying I will be in the hospital for 3 nights and then likely transferred to a rehabilitation hospital for 2 weeks, then sent home.
I do not have sufficient savings to cover this cost. My living expenses are $3500 a month, and I will need to raise 2 months of living expenses plus the cost of hiring around-the-clock nurses for at least 6 weeks.
