Support Jim Ganzer's Family After Devastating Fire

Hello,

I'm Sandy Ganzer and I'm raising funds for my father, Jim Ganzer and my stepmother, Louise, who lost their house in the devastating Palisades fire. My father owned the house since the 1980's. It was the home that I grew up in, the home I raised my own son in, and the source of countless formative memories.

It is hard to understate what they've lost. The house and Jim's work studio were both completely leveled, taking everything they owned with it. They left in such a hurry even essential items like Louise's purse, the deed to the house, and their passports were left behind. The time and cost of replacing these items is immense, and on top of that they have to try support themselves while trying to figure out a long term living situation.

Jim is a retired artist, too old to work, and even suffered a stroke just last month.

Louise is still working but has to put her money towards the mortgage on the house - which they are expected to continue paying despite it no longer standing.

These funds will go directly to Jim and Louise to support them in any unmet needs not covered by other disaster relief aid. We thank you so very much for any help you can lend

Additional funds will be allocated to my son JJ, who lost his car in the fire.

Jim has been an icon of Los Angeles Surfer culture since the 1960's. With his sly charisma and humor, he endeared himself to many in the entertainment industry. His friendship with screenwriter John Miliuis helped served as an inspiration for the Cohen Brothers' film "The Big Lebowski"
