Support Jim Talens, N3JT, for ARRL Roanoke Director

I am running for Director of the Roanoke Division of ARRL and need your support.

I believe that key to the future of ham radio is change in the current leadership of ARRL. In my opinion, our member-centric organization needs:

• Transparency (too much is done in secret),

• IT competence and protection,

• An aggressive school program to entice young people into the hobby,

• Spectrum preservation,

• Continuing lobbying in Washington, DC,

• Reduced internal drama (politics) at headquarters (approx. 50 staff members have left in the past few years), and

• A spearheaded effort to adopt federal legislation assuring virtually every ham the right to an outdoor antenna.

To accomplish these goals, the current CEO and Roanoke Division incumbent must be changed.

Unfortunately, even this kind of election requires funding to pay for mailings to the 12,500 Roanoke ARRL members. It seems to me that the incumbent has the edge in recognition and finance, so I need your financial support but also assistance from volunteers who can help my campaign.

For a better future for ham radio, please help fund my election as ARRL's Roanoke Director.
