Support Jim Tate's Recovery

Jim Tate, one of the beloved leaders of Our Time Bank , has been in a terrible car accident. Jim sustained multiple broken bones, fractures, lacerations, and bruises. The incident has damaged or destroyed his only means of independent transportation: his wheelchair and his wheelchair accessible van.
Who's this Jim guy?
For those who don't know Jim, he has been an integral player in running our Westside Repair Cafes , and is the resident tech guru behind Our Time Bank's website. He has surmounted the challenge of becoming a paraplegic years ago, and generously continues to serve the community with his savvy computer knowledge and repair skills.
What Jim Needs:
Jim is currently at Wellsprings Post-Acute Center in Lancaster, CA where he is covered by Medicare at 100% for 20 days. His recovery is going to take 3-4 months until he can safely "transfer" himself, meaning move himself from bed to wheelchair unattended. Once he is released from Wellspring, we will need home care until he is able to transfer himself. When Medicare runs out, the costs range from unknown to astronomical.
A live-in caregiver will cost around $150/day. We estimate the total costs of health care alone at $18,000 minimum, not including the cost of replacing his van and repairing his wheelchair. While those two critical items may be covered by insurance, it is unknown at this point what Jim can count on.
How Can You Help?
~ Give as generously as you can to this fund.
~ If you are a member of Our Time Bank , Jim has LOADS to Time Bank Credits to cover help with things like:
A group field trip to Lancaster to help get his house in order (cleaning, paperwork, meals, etc.)
Possible remote legal assistance
Shopping and other errands
and more TBD
