Support Jim Tibbets' Road to Recovery

Dear family and friends,

We are setting up this go-fund-me account for a very deserving family within the community of Dufur, Oregon.

On Monday, June 17 th , Jim Tibbets had a serious fall while working on their home that resulted in multiple fractured vertebrae in his neck, as well as damage to his vertebral artery. Linda arrived to him unconscious and quickly called 911. He was air lifted to St. Charles in Bend and was admitted to the ICU where he was on a ventilator until he was able to have surgery. The neurosurgeon was able to repair the bones in his neck without causing any more deficits and he is now awake and stable. He is lucky to be alive, let alone, not paralyzed. From a medical standpoint, things have gone as well as they can possibly go, but he has a very long, uncertain recovery ahead of him. When medically able, he will need to complete an inpatient therapy program at St. Charles, in Bend to continue to get stronger. This means Jim will be out of work for the unforeseeable future and his family will be away from home and traveling extensively.

The Tibbets have been a significant part of the Dufur/The Dalles community; participating in numerous fund raisers and volunteering their time to the school district

and kids of the area in sports and academics. Jim and Linda have always been welcoming and helpful to anyone in need. Every sport memory of mine has Jim as that pivotal member in the crowd, standing tall above others with a big smile, yelling encouragement or giving you a hug afterwards. I am sure many of us have fond memories because of this family.

Your contribution will help lift some of the financial burdens they are faced with in the coming months: between losing their main income, medical bills, the costs of traveling to the hospital and therapy, hotel stays, the Life Flight and other unexpected expenses that will inevitably come up during this journey towards healing.
