Help JoAnne Good Muntean Rebuild after Devastating Tornado
Donation protected
On August 6, 2024, Bay Village was struck by an unexpected EF-1 tornado, with wind gusts reaching up to 110 MPH. The tornado left a path of destruction in its wake, snapping trees and damaging homes. Among the hardest hit was our Bexley Drive neighbor, JoAnne Good Muntean.
Just minutes after the storm began, the towering oak tree in JoAnne's front yard split at the trunk and crashed through her roof, causing extensive and heartbreaking structural and water damage. Thankfully, JoAnne was not in her home at the time. She had just arrived home as the storm began and, by some miracle, chose to stay in her car because of the heavy rain and falling branches. Her quick thinking spared her from harm, but the damage to her home is immense.
JoAnne is a lifelong Bay Village resident. As a single mom, she raised four wonderful daughters and operated a daycare out of her home for more than three decades, nurturing and caring for the children of our community. If you've ever shopped at Giant Eagle in Rocky River, you may have been greeted by JoAnne's friendly smile. She's a hardworking and selfless person who is quick to show up for others, but never asks for anything in return.
Now, JoAnne faces an unimaginable situation. The damage to her home is so severe that she cannot return. Although her homeowner’s insurance covers structural repairs, it doesn’t account for the many other essentials she has lost.
We’re asking for your support to help JoAnne as she starts over. The funds raised will go directly towards temporary housing, basic necessities, and the countless things one needs when they've lost nearly everything. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference.
Thank you for helping JoAnne rebuild her life. Together, we can assist in the fresh start she so greatly deserves.
