Support Joanou battling stage 4 cancer

My brother Joanou needs our help. On October 31st 2024, we received heartbreaking news that drastically changed his and his wife Meaghan’s life.
He went to the ER for extreme back pain and general feelings of unwellness. Blood work found abnormalities and concerning results. Xray and CT Scan followed. The following day they confirmed the unimaginable. Joanou has a rare form of kidney cancer in his left kidney and it has metastasized into his lungs, lymph nodes, and the bone of his sternum.
My brother Joanou is 31 yrs old. He’s led an active, healthy, hardworking, high energy lifestyle. He never thought he would be diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer when he went to the ER to have his back pain checked out.
This has hit us hard, we are all in shock from this crisis of events over the last 2 months. My brother is extremely health conscious, has healthy eating habits, is a non-smoker and non-drinker. He’s a loving husband, business owner, a son, a brother, an uncle and a friend. Always willing to help others, a very patient person, independent and proudly taking care of himself and others without ever asking for help. Which makes this request extremely difficult for him to make.
Joanou’s life situation has changed dramatically and he is now open to receiving help. Grateful for any and all assistance. He is clear and positive, he meditates daily, stays centered and focused on believing in the healing power of his own body and mind.
Being grateful is part of the healing process. Finding joy in hard times is a core piece to him. Living moment to moment with deep breathing is what is sustaining him.
Since his diagnosis 2 months ago his symptoms have escalated. He can no longer run his small electrical business in Powell River. Every daily task has become a challenging struggle.
Currently he is undergoing immunotherapy to target the cancer in his lungs, lymph nodes, and left kidney. Most recently he began having extreme pain in his chest and they found another metastasis in the bone of his sternum. This will be treated with radiation. All of these treatments take a toll on his body and deplete his small store of energy.
The most important thing for him to do now is to rest and focus on his healing. If we can help him with the financial aspect it will ease some of the stress during this extremely difficult time for Joanou and Meaghan.
The money will be used to make minimum payments on his bills, mortgage, food and any travel costs associated with treatments. If there is any extra it will be used for alternative therapy that may help his situation.
We greatly appreciate any help you can give Joanou. Sharing this message on your page is one way of being helpful. We would also love if everyone could visualize Joanou vibrant and healthy during his healing process. We will update this page with current information on Joanou’s healing journey.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. Our family is grateful for all the help and support you can offer Joanou and Meaghan.
