Support Jocelyn’s Battle Through Metastatic Breast Cancer

Right now our dear friend Jocelyn needs our love and support more than ever. Many of you were there when Jocelyn was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020. And many of you shared in her relief when she made it through her treatment and it seemed like her cancer days were finally behind her. But in the process of addressing recent heart issues, Jocelyn learned that the cancer had not only returned, but it metastasized. Although metastatic breast cancer is incurable, it can be managed with proper treatment. And Jocelyn and her medical team are giving it their all to find the right protocol that keeps her cancer from spreading and effectively manages her symptoms. This effort is incredibly challenging for Jocelyn and her family. An initial chemotherapy treatment proved unsuccessful and Jocelyn has now commenced a new treatment regimen coupled with radiation therapy. While this seems to be helping to keep the cancer at bay it has some extremely challenging side effects. So, in addition to a schedule packed with doctors’ appointments, Jocelyn is adjusting to the realities of a regimen that is both mentally and physically taxing on her and emotionally challenging for those who love her, especially her daughters Mimi and Josie, and her husband Mike.

Jocelyn and her family deeply appreciate all the love and generosity they received from their community in 2020. They were reluctant to reach out again but we convinced them to give us the opportunity to help. The truth is that this support can be life-changing for them as they navigate this new reality with Jocelyn on disability and currently not working full time, and her medical team trying to find the right treatment plan.

We started this Go Fund Me because we have seen the toll that the cancer and the treatment are taking on Jocelyn and her family. We want to help lighten their load in whatever way we can, and to give you the chance to pitch in and show your love as well. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps them to feel embraced and uplifted by their community and gives them the vital support they can truly benefit from at this critical time. We hope to raise enough to help meet a wide variety of needs such as food, household supplies, medical expenses not covered by insurance and housekeeping assistance. Jocelyn is also hoping to get an adjustable bed to help ease her discomfort and enable her to rest more deeply as her body fights the cancer and withstands the treatments.

In the good news department, if you have spent time with or spoken to Jocelyn recently, you know that her spirit is so strong and that she is facing her disease with a determination and a level of positivity that quite frankly is epic. But like all epic tales, Jocelyn is navigating some heavy challenges.
