Support Joe Fritz's Green Card Journey
Donation protected
My name is Bela Horvath and I started this GoFundMe page on behalf of my friend and colleague, Joe Fritz. Joe is Hungary's #1 jazz clarinetist who is currently living in Orlando, FL. He fell in love with American jazz as a child in Hungary and after hearing Benny Goodman, decided to make music his life. Like many artists, Joe worked a day job (at FedEx) in Hungary while pursuing gigs and recording deals, and would like to do that here as well, but strangely, his current visa only allows him to earn money as a musician. Jazz gigs are not that plentiful anywhere lately, and though he has applied to countless music schools in the area as a woodwind teacher, he is not employable without a green card.
This Catch-22 situation puts him in a difficult spot which could obviously be rectified by applying for a green card. Unfortunately, that is an expensive and timely endeavor that often involves legal representation, boosting the cost to over $10,000!
To keep expenses down, I will be completing the required forms for him which will lower his cost to slightly over $6,000, but that is an amount he does not have.
Joe is a gifted, uniquely talented, and sweet guy. Much of his work is available on social media and music websites, and he is committed to the preservation and performance of high-quality jazz, particularly classic jazz and swing music of the '30s and '40s, a la Benny Goodman and Artie Shaw, two of his idols.
If you love jazz, love the clarinet, love music, or love goulash, please consider donating to Joe's fund, 100% of which will be devoted to paying for USCIS immigration fees in pursuit of his green card.
