Support Joe O'Keefe in his fight against ALS

Donation protected
Joe was diagnosed with ALS in April 2023. For those who are unfamiliar with the disease, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal type of motor neuron disease. It's often called Lou Gehrig's disease, and you probably were familiar with the ice bucket challenge several years ago. Currently, there is no cure and the treatment options only delay the symptoms. Anyone who has met Joe knows that he has always been full of energy with a competitive spirit. A former UGA football player, he has remained active through running and other activities. Knowing Joe, you will realize what a struggle it will be to lose that independence, but as a fighter through and through, he is determined to battle this disease, especially with two young children, Lydia (7) and Lucas (6). Unfortunately, there are realities of the challenges as this disease progresses. Right now, Joe is still working and will do so as long as possible and we are grateful for all the resources we have at our disposal.

That said, there will be financial needs for medications, modifications needed for the home, medical support and other family financial needs.
