Support Joe's Battle Against Esophageal Cancer

Hi! I am hoping to help Joe and my mom ease some of the financial burdens they are facing. Joe was diagnosed on September 13th with Esophageal Cancer. A week later, they spent their wedding anniversary meeting with a team at the Cancer Center, being told that the cancer has spread to all of Joe's lymph nodes and he had a 1 and a half metastatic mass on his brain that needed to be removed ASAP. A few weeks later Joe made the decision to start his journey with chemo and wanted to try radiation before doing brain surgery. Shortly after, he had his port placed and began chemotherapy. Early October Joe aspirated blood into his lungs from a leak on his esophagus tumor, and was rushed by ambulance to the hospital where he had to eventually spend a night in the ICU. 2 weeks later, Joe ended up having a stroke, which led to seizures and landed him placed in a coma and in the ICU. A blood vessel ruptured on the mass on his brain, which is what caused this. The doctors said that Joe needed to get the brain surgery because the radiation didn't shrink the mass at all and he was at high risk of continuous seizures and strokes. Joe had his brain surgery on December 13th to remove the mass and fix the damaged blood vessels. (The surgery was successful!!)
Joe hasn’t been able to work as often due to all of the things that keep coming up and the side effects of his treatment. Joe is a hard worker, willing to help anyone, and he can’t wait to be back to work full time. This money will be used to help cover life expenses and help them meet their out of pocket since insurance started over January 1.
We appreciate all the continued love and support!
