Support Joey Marsico's Road to Recovery

Hello, my name is Martha Prescott Bascue and I am reaching out to all of my friends and family for my dear niece Keirsten DeLuca Marisco and her husband, Joseph Marsico’s son, Joey Marsico. Joey is an adorable 3 year old; smart, loving and playful little boy who was involved in a tragic accident that severed his right foot and caused severe injuries to his leg on Thursday afternoon, May 9th. Thanks to the loving and quick thinking of his Grampa who applied a tourniquet, Joey’s life was saved. Joey was immediately flown by helicopter to Boston where he is a patient in Boston’s Children Hospital. Not only has Joey lost his foot but he also has suffered fractures on 2 spots of the same lower leg. At this time doctors are not sure if more of his leg will need to be amputated, or if further reconstructive surgeries will be needed to aid in the healing process.

Joey faces plastic surgery on Thursday and the doctors are not certain as to how many further surgeries he will face. This is now a wait and see future. For now Joey and his parents will be there approximately 2 to 3 more weeks; however, the future is just not certain. Following a complete healing a prosthetic device will be made for Joey.

At this time we have no idea what out of pocket medical expenses will be needed but we do know that the life saving expenses will be exorbitant. Please consider a donation to his family to help defray some of these costs.
