Support Joey on Her Healing Journey
Donation protected
Our beloved friend, Joey Skorks, is going through a challenging time in her life and needs support from her friends and community now more than ever. Joey suffers from Dysplasia, which weakens the body's joints, impacting functionality and movement. Currently her condition is worse than ever and has led to multiple hip and knee dislocations over the last few months. As she recovers from these injuries she has been unable to walk, move and travel as she was able to in the past, affecting her ability to take care of her basic needs and to work in order to earn money. She is also experiencing additional emotional/physiological challenges that together with her injury and lack of support network are creating a burden that feels too much for her to take on by herself.
Fortunately she has a place to live for the next 4-5 months, but the chore of cooking meals, maintaining the house, etc takes a toll on her body so she has been limited in what she is able to do even within the comfort of her own space. Joey is very committed to healing, growing and using her gifts to impact the world in a positive way, and she plans to use these next months to begin to do just that. Sometimes our individual strength alone is sufficient to overcome a challenge, but other times our individual strength is insufficient and we need help from others to push through and hold the vision of healing and transformation. This is one of those times when our friend needs help. In our times of greatest need we are blessed when someone who cares lends support and strength, whether a mother, friend, relative or stranger.
Please consider donating to support Joey buying groceries, paying medical bills, and covering the myriad other life expenses that exist. Any amount is appreciated and makes a huge difference! Others ways to support are by making plans to visit and hangout with Joey and perhaps help with errands. I know first hand that having a friend go out of their way to visit, help with basic household tasks, and spend time quality means so much while a person is recovering from an injury! Joey also needs a cell phone so if you have an old phone please consider restoring it to factory settings and donating so she can more easily communicate with community, and make phone calls to hopefully be able to register for government services like health insurance, etc.
Your kindness and support means the world to Joey right now! Thank you again.
