Support Johan's Grieving Family

It is with heavy sadness that I share this news. My friend Marika's 12-year-old son was tragically killed in a car accident while on a trip with his father, Max, in South Carolina on the evening of March 21st. I have known the family since Johan was 4 months old, and he was my son's best friend.

Johan was an energetic, kind-hearted, and lovable child. Everyone who knew him knows how caring he was to everyone around him. Out on the soccer field, he was the first to give his teammates a high five, and the first to check on his friends if they had fallen or were having a bad day. His presence was special, and although his family moved to North Carolina from Boston 3 years ago, he always had a special place in our hearts.

While the family is waiting on autopsy results and the investigation to be complete (which is common for fatal accidents), they have a long road ahead of them. Johan leaves behind two sisters, Eloisa (10 years old) and Laurel (7 years old), who loved him dearly and who will need therapy to process this loss. There will be bills and expenses that the family will need to endure as they try to pick up the pieces. I will share information about the services once the family is able to arrange it. In the meantime, if you are able to give to this beautiful family, it would be greatly appreciated.
