Support John Kinney - Melanoma Journey
John Kinney is a husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend to all. His family is sad to share that John is entering palliative care, as he continues to fight his battle with Cancer. On May 2nd, John entered the emergency room. After a scan, it was confirmed that John's cancer had spread. With multiple masses in his lung, cancer inflaming the peritoneum, and lesions on his spine and liver, Doctors are working diligently to minimize pain. Paired with pain management, John is receiving cancer treatment in hopes to prolong his life despite his cancer being terminal. His cancer spread faster than doctors and families anticipated, leaving a void filled with grief, frustration, confusion, and ill-preparedness.
If there were words to describe John, they would be generous, dedicated, and resilient. He is giving of his kindness, wisdom, but also his unique skills. If you know John, he has likely fixed your car, helped you build your house, played drums at your church, or just been a friend to go on walks with. His heart for servitude is what makes John an incredible human.
Above all else, John is a husband to Cheryl, a Dad to five children, and PopPop to five grandchildren. John is also an incredible son to his mother Karin, and brother to siblings Maria, Uwe, Michael, and Patrick. Each of us is thankful for the countless positive memories we have created with John. Thinking and preparing for life without John is weighing heavy on all those he loves.
